🎙️ Service Course Report Podcast Has Launched
A cycling podcast rooted in decades of riding, racing, and cycling industry experience .
Real riders, real gear, real talk.
We’re rolling.
What started as a side project on Instagram and this Substack has officially shifted into podcast mode. The Service Course Report is now a show — hosted by three longtime friends who’ve been riding and racing together since BMX bikes and dirt lots in the 1980s.
Two episodes are now live:
▶️ Episode 1: From BMX to Pro — A Cyclist’s Journey
We kick off with our personal stories — from backyard jumps to pro road and mountain bike racing, team management, and real-world reflections on the evolution of bike culture. We talk about building wheels, race-day chaos, old-school mentors, and what keeps us pedaling today.
▶️ Episode 2: Tour Talk, Tech Trends, and Realtor on Bike
Tour de France insights, Life Time Grand Prix storylines, new gear we’ve tested, and how gravel’s rewriting the playbook. We also spotlight the Realtor on Bike network — where life, work, and the ride all intersect.

Ed Philbrick
Ed has raced all the bikes — road, gravel, mountain, BMX, and track. He’s a 4-time California State Champion, a Redlands Classic finisher, and a product of the Olympic Training Center pipeline. In the early 2000s, he owned one of Southern California’s first boutique-style bike shops in Summerland, California, serving both pros and passionate locals. After racing, he pivoted to sports marketing and now works as a Realtor in Southern California. He’s the founder of the Realtor on Bike network and publisher of the Service Course Report Substack. Gravel got him back in the saddle — and talking bikes again.
Kurt Stockton
Kurt’s racing pedigree runs deep. He rode the 1990 UCI Road World Championships, the Baltic Sea Friendship Race, the Tour of Switzerland, and a long list of U.S. and European races. He was the 1990 U.S. National Road Race Champion and later managed the Sierra Nevada Pro Cycling Team. He also served as Director of the NOW and Novartis for MS women’s team, supporting and mentoring the next generation of pros. His racing IQ and team leadership experience bring sharp insight to every episode.
Derin Stockton
Derin raced pro road and World Cup Downhill at the highest level and was instrumental in launching the original Santa Cruz Syndicate and Maxxis Downhill teams. He helped design Maxxis’s first generation of MTB tires and now designs for Panaracer while consulting with top-tier suspension brands. Based in Carpinteria, California, Derin also works as a fitness trainer — blending his deep knowledge of bike setup and human biomechanics to help athletes move better and ride longer. He’s trained Supercross champions, built bikes for elite racers, and brings a rare blend of technical and physical expertise to the show.
